With over 25 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and philanthropy, Cindy Noftsinger is a powerhouse fundraiser and development professional whose career has been defined by one core principle: relationships build results.
Currently serving as Director of Development at Sunnyside Communities, Cindy brings a wealth of expertise in strategic fundraising, major and individual donor cultivation, planned giving, and special events that inspire action. A lifelong champion of community engagement, she has raised millions of dollars to strengthen health, education, and human services across Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley.
Prior to her role at Sunnyside, Cindy served as Executive Director of Brain Injury Connections of the Shenandoah Valley, where she grew organizational capacity and public visibility, stewarded legislative relationships, and championed patient advocacy. Her resume also includes pivotal development roles at James Madison University—where she helped launch the inaugural Women for Madison Summit on Philanthropy—and Valley FCA, where she built bridges between faith, athletics, and fundraising impact.
Cindy is a long-standing member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and an expert in cultivating generosity through authentic storytelling, meaningful stewardship, and aligned mission advancement. She holds advanced degrees in education and public administration and is deeply committed to coaching emerging leaders in social impact work.

Whether building a donor portfolio from scratch or hosting a major gala with grace, Cindy leads with warmth, integrity, and unmatched fundraising savvy.
